Due to the recent scamming attempts I thought that it would be a good idea for another news post about account security.

Use a password that isn't possible to guess.
"pony" or the same pass as your username most be some of the worst password that you can possible have on PI, ideally the password shouldn't even be a word and not something you can figure out by looking at your stable (for example a pony name) or presentation.

Do never, under any circumstances give out you account password.
There is nothing that another user (or us admins) would need your account password for, not for helping with questing or contesting or anything else.

If you feel that you need to give another user access to your account, you can sub your account under the user. That way he/she can do all the thing that can be done under password access except for changing the password or email. However it's not recommended that you sub your account to anything else then accounts that you own since there's still possible to do a lot of damage to a account when you sub login to it.

If you still decide to sub your account under another user, make sure that it's a user that you can trust and that you've known her/him for a long time. (If a new user suddenly want to become your best friend and suggest that you sub your account to him/her it's probably a scammer)

Trading accounts with other users (for other accounts, PG or money) is a really risky business and also nothing that we recommend doing, simply because we can't guarantee that you'll get that you pay for (or anything at all). If you still want to trade accounts make sure that you deal with a user that is trustworthy and not a newly registered unknown user.

We of course do anything in our power to help if you have been a victim of a scam, but unfortunately in many cases there's nothing we can do simply because it can be very hard to prove that you own a account that you don't have access or what was part of the deal when for example trading a account for something.

Thanks ZarqX I had someone PM the other day wanting to trade accounts it sounded like a scam so I PMed the person back saying I don't thiink so! I would have reported them but I'm not sure how you do that lol But thanks everyone should be on the look out for this stuff always.

yep i agree my freind got scammed by a TRI but all is better now although she lost all of her ponies apart from 4 who i saved and she has been fighting to get the others back from the trail accounts my pass is very complicated so no-one can guess! and if they did there would be hell to pay thats why theres a warning on moss's presentation

my password should be impossible I change it often and I subbed with a real good freind I am should be safe I have been scammed no fun!

This user has been banned.

She is just trying to scam you, a lot of users has received PMs like this.
She can't kill your ponies and do not know where you live so you don't have to worry about that.

That's really useful! When I saw the contact box light up I was like oh great another weird PM from a Trial user. Complete opposite of it though. Thanks! I wont be deleting that.

The accounts will be banned until we've returned them to the original owner (if we're able to do that).

Thanks for the advice! My password is a combination of letters and numbers, so I doubt anyone can guess it. But it's good stuff to know! Also, don't answer any "Wanna trade accounts?" PMs from people you don't know. There's been a person scamming that way.
