      | Hi everyone yeah not to big on the ZF either but loving all the space from the new enclosures WOW gotta love that lol I have genned a few have one earthy/ZF breeding pair that i am going to cherry pick the daylights out of for maybe a few severely limited babies but that's about it I am loving all the hard work the art crew puts in but sometimes less is more to me.... I am too old I think lol   and no I didnt spend much on the pair the female was a fail at an attempt for an aoocs for someone that didnt want her and the male was a fail at some other pair in the works lol so they are some what of a scrap pile pair lol on another note I have 3 of my boy Fr34ks babies in my nursery right now really great hexes all SVSo's if you are interested he tosses really close to black babies and some close to Banana and jewel hexes feel free to holler at me I am in and out depending on the weather here lol all are labeled |

| Yeah, I have to agree with the general sentiment - I like the face mask and the wing stripes on winged breeds, but the gene as a whole seems to be awfully overpowering. I've seen some cyan ponies with lime green and magenta CZFinch, for example... Yikes. XP I prefer it when the Extra 2 (or the white part) is fairly similar to the body hex, but not identical to it, with a starker contrast for the Extra 1 (or the black part). ^^;; These are the only Finches that I have so far:   See what I mean about the Extra 2... I like these guys a lot, but I had to go through dozens of really bizarre ponies in order to find colour combinations that worked. o~o |

  | I agree Nequam, ZebraFinch can look overpowering, but there are discreet colours that do work pretty well, it's just a matter of experimenting. I particularly like that pale Peg with MStripes as well, she looks very cool. I do like the striped markings on the wings! |

     | Hi all, long time no see. :'D I've had a really busy few months, and to top it off some mass-kills hindering my breedings.. but now I'm finally back on track! The ZFinch doesn't really appeal to me, either. I think what bothers me the most is the way it hides most of the pony's body color. Seems to be a usual problem. :'D But like many before me I've found myself liking the gene with invisible Ex2 a lot, and I do like how the gene looks with that and greeeey! Like the only two ZFinch ponies I have currently:   I'm not sure I'll even get more, even though I do like the look on winged breeds - again as many have before me. x3 (Boots shares common opinions post.) Nequam, that pale yellow girl is really gorgeous! It's almost like she has paint below the more ornate pattern. And for some reason that more cyan hex on the boy manages to make him look really shiny.  Meaning that he looks really nice too. And as my Steampunk breedings go, I've gotten some additions to my projects! Now that I finally got them ressed, I have a pair that could throw me really close or even pure Solder Iron bodies, and better yet, it could be on a Kirin! I think I'm crazy for making myself want all my R&S-hexes to be on Kirins at one point, but eh, I'm in no hurry.  Speaking of Kirins, I genned this lovely boy on leap day:  Hair 7 off Magnetic Snap! When I get my finances better balanced I'm going on a hunt to find a girl for him. I don't care for her breed at all, soooo if anyone has a girl with near to that hex hair, I'd love to negotiate a reverse breed. :3 Even better if you'd find it useful too! |

| Like several other people here, I am not a huge fan of the new BrSgene. I did just see it on a Kirin test breed, and I think on them the spotted blanket (which is the part I have the most issues with) works great, it blends in to look like less like spots and more like they have a few different colored scales mixed in.

Sorry to take ages to reply, had a stupidly busy day yesterday! I think, unfortunately, that because it's her eye colour and it's a Jewels colour (rather than say a GAP, Sugar or Pure, i.e. colours that are more widely known and used) that she isn't really worth anything more than a pony without the exact hex, unless of course you find a person who is specifically looking for a Jewel hex. There are a lot of colour groups on PI, people in Mosaic tend to be more interested in the lesser groups as well as the main ones, but for PI as a whole the interest is in the more well-known groups, and for many people, they're only interested in the eight Pure colours. |

(Unless it's a hard hex to get ahold of to begin with due to the number spread. I actually have a full 36 pony Legion of GAP 'Ocean' colours all in the eye slot - I think I wanted to be different from those collecting body hexes and also hoped that I'd find ponies that weren't snapped up by the main collectors! |

03-26 18:51 RomaniRaven 2922 - USR | I wish/don't know if there is a way to check a certain players ponies for pure hexes but I may have one with the hex your looking for in the eyes lol I also collect Jewel hexes like mad and the Korr hexes so either of the Ame hexes I may have lol and I know I have one somewhere with it in the eyes but have 35+ accts to search O.O as for the Magnetic Snap Hex I may have one really close to that in either my Gypsy Steamers acct or my Mosaic Gypsies acct or my The Web Acct and for club members my mares and stallies are generally up for free breed/reverse breed unless they are strict DVSO pairs and most of them are on special accts. 05-03 13:21 Matchmaker 2214 - USR | Some of you made really good points about the Mascot pony - 20BP is a lot to gen starters for a TV project so I've ruled out all the 20 BP breeds. I've also ruled out Tarantula purely because of my ongoing Matchmaker 'Breed the colour Bandit' project which specifies colorized Tarantula! I've ruled out Earthies as the Colour Matcher has an Earthie mascot, and ruled out Unis as JWebGen has one of those. Also ruled out Fawn due to the Reindeer requirement. I would dearly like to use colorized Monarch simply because in some breeds it really shows up well as little dots of colour, rather like a mosaic tile. The breeds it works best in, I think, at 10 BP level, are Pegasus (female), Phoenix (male) and WU (both). I also love QStripes because it allows one to mix in 4 different colours in the hair. I hear you about the length of time to do a TV project. So I've settled on a DV instead. I figure people will have their hands full with getting near to the specified hexes without adding a third Sgene in. Yay! So a new refined set of constraints for anyone interested to try. Design a colorized Monarch, QStripes pony who is either a:
male Phoenix, female Pegasus, or female/male WU. Try to use Club colours or those near to them, and see what you come up with in JWebGen. This is my attempt:  Body: FFFFBB (Whiff of Banana - Going Bananas) Hair: 460064 (Sea Urchin - Lagoon) Eyes: BBFFFF (Safety Valve - R0b0Steam) Hair Extra 0000BB (Star Sapphire - Jewels) Extra 1: ff64c8 (Cotton Candy - Pastels) Extra 2: 0064ff (Periwinkle - Secret Garden) Entries to be posted in this thread by 15th May 2012, 12.00 PI time.
