I am having such a hard time not questing my training ponies. I have 12 training accounts and every single pony can complete a hard quest, some are waiting for slots for impossibles.

Doing impossible quests has not been anywhere near as profitable for me as hard quests. It's kind of like those going for 1020 levels, they get so far then plateau. This said I absolutely LOVE the collectable items. I just know that as soon as I quest them all out that we will get a new item.

How are the rest of you dealing with this dilemma?

Nope. I'm too lazy to quest anyways, lol. It takes me 2 weeks to convince myself to quest, sometimes more ^^;

Oh I know what you mean. I like doing the Medium quests because it's fairly quick and easy pg/bp but I want to do impossible's for the items. I usually end up breaking down and doing the mediums anyway and kicking myself later when I see users running around with the collectibles. Gotta commend them for putting that much work into it, they're stronger-willed than me I tell you what!

I find it hard to resist as well! I don't *need* any more of the quest items right now, but it's kind of addictive, lol. The best way I've found is so that specific (focus) ponies aren't penalised by the fodder, which at the moment is leading to a lot of the fodder ponies gaining large amounts of levels. Until those ponies get past a specific level, it's a bit easier to resist. But after that I'm going to have to just quest out certain ponies, so the fodder can keep gaining ready for the next batch! Obviously if they max they get quested anyway :wink

I quest when I need the PG for vetting. If an account can support doing impossibles, I'll leave ponies with the most levels (usually 70+) to sit when the PG stores are too low. If it can't support doing impossibles--like most of the accounts that I train my toplist ponies in--because it burns through too much PG compared to what's coming in, then I just quest everything out and don't worry about the items. :smile

i can't seem to get past medium very often.

and like Silverheart said;
Quote Silverheart:

i can never seem to come out on top pg wise, because i'm spending it all in vet bills. like once or twice a month i'll do a day or two of constant contesting, then just leave it for ages.

For the past 6 months or so I've been running a contest several times a day for under 250 level adult ponies with 2 classes, each "topped up" with 85+ 0 level "fodder" ponies. The UDLs started to build up pretty quickly on my favourites and now I usually get one to four impossible quests completed every day.

For higher level ponies I just stick with hard, or occasionally, medium quests as I only contest them once or twice a day.

I have a whole bunch of questing accounts and I went through and picked out some accounts to be dedicated to just impossible quests and the others I quest as I feel like it or when they are running low in PG. That way I have some accounts with plenty of UDLs and others that are supporting them and generating BP.

This sounds great in theory but in practice my impossible quest dedicated accounts seem to be accumulating less UDLS than some of the others :XD

I like having specialist ponies: ponies that have one skill set maxed. That way I know they'll do good at the corresponding contests. So, when they get 60 levels I don't mind letting them sit there.

A strategy that has been working for me lately is:

1. Quest Low level ponies on Medium. It just seems to me if a pony is under 50 or even under 80, it's going to take so long to for them to accrue UDLs that you might as well go ahead and level them up rather than waiting for a hard quest that would technically give you move BP for your levels but would leave the pony at a lower level longer making them weak contestant.
2. Keep one pony on an Impossible Quest, and when I complete their quest pick the pony with the most UDLs for the next impossible quest.
3. Constantly quest future fathers, because I want their offspring at high levels. So, I look at the pony overview and pick a father that's as close to 40 as possible. If their are no father's close to 40, I pick at father close to 20. If there's a tie, I pick the lowest level father.
4. Other than these scenarios, I usually just wait until I need the bp or pg. Then pick a pony for either a hard or medium quest depending on which is the most advantageous.

Ugh its such a chore to quest my accounts and I only have 3 :XD

Most of my ponies continue to do their normal quests but the ones that are gaining more UDL's than the others, I usually leave to collect levels for impossible quests. So I usually have around 10 or so ponies collecting levels for impossible quests, the rest are quested normally.

I have been very tempted lately however to get another account just to have ponies gather udls for impossible quests for the items ._. hm so tempting.

Not really. But I'm a really lazy quester. After my last questing spree, I went up to around 7m PG. I am currently down to 3 million, and dropping. I probably won't quest anything until I'm down to less than 1m. Again. >->

Like Silverheart, I really only quest if I'm running out of vetting PG. But when I do, I know what it's like to want to quest the pony who's gained 60-70 UDLs since the last time. My solution has just been to take some of my better levelers in my questing accounts and move them to the bottom of my second stable so they're easier to ignore on the pony overview. I'd like to have an account dedicated to impossible quests but I just don't have the PG to keep it running.

I hate questing out my accounts. I give each questing account the same amount of pg at the start (generally 1 mil pg), and when it starts to get to where I can't afford to vet anymore then I go and quest the account out. At first it tends to average out to two times a week, but after awhile I can go one or two weeks. Once an account gets to 5 mil pg though, I send 4 mil to me and start over.

For all ponies apart from 1020 and those in my Daudrey 5 account (Her personal train slaves) I just avoid opening the Pony Overview :XD For Daudrey 5, they are getting quite lot of UDLs (Most currently is 170-180) but I tell myself that 1020 needs tham and that they will be used next event with new collectables.

I guess though having a pony with 500 undeployed levels kinda makes you pretty resistant to the temptation :XD

I am out of town this week, my presence will be limited until I'm home on the 27th

Oh my gosh, yes. x_x That's exactly what I've been thinking the past week. I already have 4 and a half full sets of the eggs by now, but I feel I must hang onto all the rest of my UDLs in case something new shows up again.

When the eggs came out, I was only letting one account bank the UDLs for the impossible quests, but right before they came, I had finished off the left over quests because I didn't anticipate something new so quickly. I then scrambled for a week and a half to regain the levels. >_< Now I have all my accounts trying to reach impossible level but... I'm used to questing, so looking at all those banked UDLs is odd.

I think I might take it down a notch and leave the impossible quests for the ponies that do the best at them. Now that I see these items don't go away in just a week, hopefully we'll see some pattern in it all and can form the best strategy for obtaining things efficiently.

:XD I sound like a dork, but I am a crazy item collector, must achieve!
