![]() | Where i use to live the neighborhood across the riviera allowed chicken...or at least people had them. For a while we had a rooster come in to our yard. Oddly my whole family is up before the sun so my dad and I would sit on the front porch and watch it wake everyone up. |

![]() | I got 99 problems but a rooster ain't one... lol, I'm kidding. I really don't have a rooster, but last year, a neighbor had a rooster and it cocadoodledoo'd every morning from 5:30 to 8 am. it woke me up (and other neighbors, I'm sure) every single day for about 2 months before they finally got rid of it. ~~![]() |

![]() | If you live in a residential area as well you may want to check the laws about having Roosters. I know here, I can have a couple of chickens in the yard (I live in town), but can't have a rooster becuase of the fact they make a heap of noise. |

![]() | Do have a photo of the chick in question? 90% of the time, you can easily tell a rooster at a month of age if you know what to look for(red in the comb, sickle feathers, color, etc.). Better to be positive of the gender now, so you can get rid of it before the crowing begins(if that is the problem). As for having rooster problems myself... ahh, sort of. I have a small batch of roosters that are awaiting freezer camp, if you know what I mean. <_< I love roos, I really do. I even have one that likes to follow people around and chat with them. But this particular bunch is nasty as all get out. |

![]() | Ahh roosters. We have chickens, two of them are roosters. We used to have three, but one of them crowed too much and we had to get rid of him because the neighbors kept calling the councel with complaints. The two we have left hardly crow at all, my mum puts them in a compost bin at night to muffle the nose. They never crow during the day. I could never get rid of them though, they are sooo sweet natured. One of them you can pick up and do almost anything with, he's so laid back. |

![]() | I had chickens when I was a kid, and I had a rooster, too. Other than crowing in the morning, which I never heard any complaints about, all was quiet. I have no need to conform to the stereotypes that others have defined for me. http://ponyisland.org/index.php?src=forum&sub=replies&forum=26&topic=2957854--> My NEW ML Link! |
