![]() | Okay, I have a horrid streak with hand-held/pocket electronics. More so, my iPods. My first iPod, whom I affectionately named "Stupidly Hard to Kill", was a Shuffle. It lasted not one, or two, but about seven rides through the clothes washer. I was impressed. I loved that little thing. I think it died to old age, but now I've lost him in my desk somewhere. Then I have "D.I.L.G" (Dumb Insane Little Girl), who is one of those tiny new Nano's. She's got that touch screen, and stuff. I've lost her in a field, dropped her, and used her constantly. She's only gone through once in the clothes washer. And she's unresponsive. Well, not totally unresponsive. If you put her up close to your ear, you can hear a faint noise. I have her plugged into my laptop Hannah right now, and the computer still recognizes D.I.L.G. as an iPod. She's already sat in the bag of rice, and my dad used some electronic clean-up spray on her. It's been a week, and still nothing. Any chance that she'll make it, or do I need to buy a new iPod? |

![]() | Is it a high pitched buzzy electronic sound? If so, I fear D.I.L.G is a goner. |

![]() | It kinda is. Darn. I think I'll just go for the newer Shuffle, then (kinda what I wanted in the first place, but my family got me D.I.L.G. instead. I wasn't going to complain, since she was more expensive and I was very, very grateful). D.I.L.G. shall go on my "damaged/dead" electronic sculpture that I'm planning on making, then. X3 |

![]() | How long was it in the rice? My grandma dropped her smart phone in water and it took weeks in a bag of rice to completely dry out, so maybe it's not a goner. |

![]() | Heh, thanks. And that is an amazing name. And I'll put her back in the rice for a while, and see what happens. |

![]() | If you put it back in the rice Try turning it on again in 2 or 3 days and if it doesn't work then , then it's most likely dead. |

![]() | I have had my Ipod for 2 or 3 years now, it's a nano gen 4 (I think xD) like an idiot I left it outside during a rainstorm the day after (when I found it) I could not do anything with it! so anyway, I put it in my cupboard and forgot about it until about a year ago when I decided to charge it and see what happened for the fun of it O.o it charged! but the backlight and the menu button no longer worked it died again a few months ago (for no particular reason) but after again resting it and leaving it alone for a few months it now works ^-^ so, try and use it in a month or two |

![]() | Does D.I.L.G. make a high-pitch sort of buzzing sound? If so, then she's probably dead, sadly. :3 "Your ancestors called it magic, and you call it science, but I come from a land where they are one and the same." ~Thor Odinson, Thor ![]() Keep calm and just sonic it. ![]() | If D.I.L.G was dead ( as in ran out of battery) when she went through the wash, chances are she can be revived by sitting undisturbed for a week or two. If not, she's probably gone, as the water would have shorted out some of the circuits. |

![]() | I'd say goner... I had a little nano for a while and I left it outside when it was storming rain (screen up) I stuck it in rice for a good week and it never worked again. |
