So, I had a sick day today (darn influenza virus), and to pass the time I made Omen some art!
I'm very proud of this piece, for one because its my first large portrait, but also because I managed to capture so much of his personality with just one picture.
A little about Omen:
Born under a lunar eclipse, Omen (given name Deameus), was prophesied to be a bringer of death and darkness from birth. As he grew though, Omen turned out to be more of a kind hearted healer then the terrifying bringer of death and domination. Becasue of this, Omen has always been on bad terms with his father, Talacar. Omen was a constant disappointment with the way he showed no passion in battle or in the war room, and cared more about his studies in medicine and diplomacy then in fighting and leading his army.
Although still very capable in battle, Omen feels that many wars can be won without blood being spilled, and strives to keep pain and suffering from the world. He cares deeply for his family and friends, and strides to keep the conflict within the tribe, and with other tribes, to a minimal.
He gained his nickname Omen from his younger sister Azreal, who has a twisted black sense of humour about things she finds "deliciously ironic". She gave him the name because "Others often misread the omens, forgetting that sometimes omens are bad, and sometimes they're good."
