I told you so!It was one of those hot days which Issolde just hated. It was time to move onto a new patch of home. Sekoyrai had picked every herb she could from the previous place, meaning they must move on. Issolde never got why Sekoyrai was so fascinated by green weeds that never grew anywhere. It was boring and she hated it.
Issolde threw herself up a sand dune as Sekoyrai walked peacefully below. The warm breeze rushed through Issolde's mane, and sand prickled her body. It was an odd sensation, but over the years she had been in this vast wasteland, it no longer bothered her. All she could see was yellow, blue and white. Nothing. Just empty. It confused her why Sekoyrai liked to live in just a lonely place.
"Issolde, Keep moving", Shouted Sekoyrai from afar. "You going to be left behind and i will not come back for you young one".
"But im busy", shouted back Issolde. All she wanted to do was run along the tops of the sand dunes. OF course this annoyed Sekoyrai. As Sekoyrai had warned her the dunes could collapse beneath Issolde's hooves causing her to come crashing back down to the bottom.
"I will not ask again dear Issolde. Follow now or be left behind", replied Sekoyrai not even turning her head to see how far away Issolde had strayed.
With a large puff and a mild hissy fit, Issolde made her way down the dune. It wasn't fair, she could never do anything she wanted. So after she made her way back to Sekoyrai's side, Issolde started to pull faces at her while she wasn't looking, of course trying to pass the time. Eventually Sekoyrai busted her and told her.
"You do realize that if you keep doing that, the wind will change and your face will freeze like it is forever. Ive heard it happen to many a young filly who ignores the wishes of their elders.""Pshhh, what ever. I doubt its true, your just lying. Magical wind, what next? Flying foxes", replied Issolde with the up most stuck up attitude.
Sekoyrai ignored her rude remark back and continued to walk along the deserts hot sand. Issolde got so bored again, she decided to continue pulling faces. She though Sekoyrai had given up caring, so it made it that little bit more fun that she could get away with it.
So she went for the most epic face she could pull, her eyes completely cross eyed. Her tongue sticking out as far as it could go. But then something happened? What on earth was going on?
"Whats going on. I thought it was all lies", mumbled Issolde as her tongue was flapping around out of her mouth.
"I warned you young one, the wind does change on those who ignore it", answers Sekoyrai still walking forward and no even taking one peak and Issolde.
"But its not fair! Why does it happen to me, i didnt do anything. But pull faces", once again issolde spoke, mumbled and barely understandable.
Issolde started running around trying to push her face back into place. She kept bumping into Sekoyrai's side due to her cross eyed eyes. Eventually Sekoyrai stopped after about 10 minutes of letting issolde suffer, then spoke.
"Have you learned your lesson not to be rude to those who simply ask very little from you"."I do, I do. Im So sorry. Now my face will look like this forever", pleaded issolde as a tear ran down her disfigured face.
And as soon as Issolde had apologized, Sekoyrai nodded her head and Issoldes face returned to normal.
"Thats not fair! You can't do that to me. Using your powers against me. Im just over this heat and there is nothing to do nor play with", complained Issolde.
Sekoyrai simply shook her head side to side and lifted her wing out ward a little to offer the young filly some shade. "All you have to do is use the power of speech to get what you want". Issolde then huddled up under the shade and waited patiently for the rest of the trip. But still in her head she thought it wasn't fair. All she ever did was be nice to Sekoyrai, why was she so grumpy?
