Ok so i read the mini guides about how to search for breed questings but i guess it's not sinking in really well...
Decided to start questing a lot to earn back some PG and BP [just came back after a year or more of PI hiatus]
I have a few breeding quests, would love for some expert advice... so i can get the hang of things! Probually should have started with easy quests...but went for hard >.<

2012-04-25 Breeding Hard Breed a pony with: Body color between 224|155|009 and 199|130|034 , Hair color between 139|071|093 and 114|046|068
2012-04-25 Breeding Hard Breed a pony with: Body color between 182|154|208 and 157|129|183 , Eye color between 158|073|200 and 133|048|175
2012-04-25 Breeding Hard Breed a pony with: Body color between 004|004|062 and 029|029|037 , Eye color between 025|202|230 and 000|177|205

Those are the 3 i have currently... any really good advice?

Ok... I'm not an expert by no means, but I definitely have my opinion on the best way to do a breeding challenge.

#1, only do breeding challenges if you enjoy them. The BP/PG reward is not worth all the time, stable, and other resources that are going to go into the challenge itself.
#2, only keep about 5 to 10 ponies for each challenge. It took me a while to realize that if a mare is 50 pts away from the goal, she's not going to drop an ideal foal, instead sell her and let her granddaughter who is 25 pts away give it a shot.
#3, I prefer extremely hard challenges because I only have to worry about one hex, and the fact that the hex is clearly defined keeps me from getting frustrated when I'm doing pony searches. I do one impossible quest at a time just because I like the challenge.
#4, I usually start with one mare and one stud (or sometimes I breed with someone else's stud). One will have all high numbers, the other will have all low numbers. I always keep the first 3 babies born, especially if they are girls, but after that I make sure that the new arrivals beat their older counterparts. I go as far to calculate how many points they are away with a free web calculator.
#5, if you want to spend the bp you can gen a pony or ponies to win the breeding challenge, but you're going to spend more bp than can earn to do this. If you choose to gen a starter, I suggest coming up with a dreamie with similar hexes. That way you're not just using the bp to when challenge, you are also going end up with a high quality pony.

I hope this helps. :smile

I also agree to go for the Extremely Hard over anything else. 1 specific hex is much easier than even 2 within 25 points. And Impossible makes you want to kill something. I've been doing an Imp breeding quest for... probably a year. And really... I'm still not even half-way close. Ha.

After that, I'm never doing another breeding quest again. I'm sticking to Training and that's that.

Home of the Dalek Ponies!

I do the exact oposite of every one else. I just start three easy chalenges and breed for my projects without looking at the numbers in the quests. They eventually get done and i just start a New quest to replace it. I treat the breeding quests as gravy to all other things I have on the go. Hope you get your breeding quests and big rewards :smile

I like opening breeding quests on my training accounts. I often breed for training stock baby's so when I complete a breeding quest it isn't such a big deal. It also shaves off a step when I am questing to have all the breeding quests going.
